Color Blocking

Now that it is summer it’s to step up your fashion sense and bring out the colors, but what a lot of people have a hard time with is color blocking. I will unlock the secret to color blocking and once you have the knowledge you will not be afraid to bring out the colors again.

There are three ways to color block which are complementary colors, colors of the same family, and Triadic colors. I will explain each one with an example pic next to it.

Complementary colors

Complementary colors are colors that complement each other to match. If you look at a color wheel these are colors that are on the opposite side of each other. Sometimes you should pair the two colors with a neutral color depending on what colors you use, but most of the time you don’t have to.

2 or 3 colors of the same family is another way to color block which I think is the easiest. While looking at the color wheel these colors are always right next to each other.

Triadic colors

Triadic colors are colors on the color wheel that form a triangle. These colors in the teiadic form are colors you can use when color blocking. Don’t try to put any other colors in with the outfit because you will throw your outfit off.

These are the three simple steps to use in order to color block your ootd’s. Now get out there and enjoy the colors of Spring and Summer.
